my grand i told you so

i remmeber someone showed me something over the weekend called jing wei; it was on the computer. it is a memory so isolated that i would dismiss it as a fragment of a dream improperly digested and periodically coughed up as dèja vu if i hadn't found it perfectly preserved as i remember it. now it registers as chris' weblog. for chris, the failures of poetic justice become apparent only gradually, a rare case indeed.

saki, whose idea of airport punctuality would enrage the likes of angie, got me up to take her and dody to the airport. it was raining and everything was the color of rust showing itself through the paint of a long-forgotten car at night. tran, for whom there is nothing but poetic justice, maintained the demeanor of a youth minister or a salesperson for a product that truly no one needs, thankful for the chance to be stuck in traffic right before sunrise after not sleeping all night.

i briefly took on tran's attitude today when my most struggling student quite unexpectedly explained to me that the calculation of an object's weight is merely a consequence of newton's second law. i used dody's leftover wine and leftover potatoes, creme, bacon, and onions from the mexican food of friday to make a tartiflette.

Thanks for taking us to the airport Jesse. I owe you one.

I passed out on the plane, waking up briefly to sip some water, sandwiched between an old chinese guy and a dude who kept on ordering screw drivers.

It was a truly legendary weekend.

Jesse, we had a great conversation in the car. I hope I can be of more influence to you in the near future.
