The rabbit was dealt an irrevocable shock, sitting in that cardboard box.  It refused to drink water for two days.  They threw water on it.  It died of pneumonia.

On Saturday night Clarence Center celebrated one of its rackets.  People were disturbed from slumbers, wagons were dismembered, bolsters and bolts were carried away, field rollers were found on door steps, etc.  These young men engaged in these midnight depredations had better be on their guard, as the law-abiding citizens of Clarence Center are getting out of patience and will not suffer it much longer.  Whisky is at the bottom.
