oxford english dictionary! i am a great enthusiast of dictionaries if the dictionary contains important information such as etymologies, examples, dates, relative frequencies. i had heard great things of OED so i checked the website and found that i could own the entire bound set at a discounted price of $795. or i could purchase the cd for $250. i also remember that i was on the phone with someone from the university and they said that i wouldn't pay $1561 anymore, but rather $568. $568 pays for things like swimming pools, bus service, free cheap beer and pizza in random locations, and why not the OED? i checked and in fact i have already paid to become part of OED, and it is so joyous.
